The Green Man of India- Himmata Ram Bhambhu:

Himmata Ram Bhambhu is a social worker, nature lover, conservationist and environmentalist from Nagaur district in Rajasthan. He has been awarded with Padmashri on Republic-day 26 January 2020 by the President of India. He may be contacted at Phone No:01582-243490, Mobile No. 9414241601. 

He was born at village Sukhwasi in Nagaur district in Rajasthan on 14.2.1956. 

His father's name is Shri Chatara Ram Bhambhu and mother Smt Madi Devi Godara from village Gudha Bhagwandas (Nagaur district in Rajasthan). 

He did his Primary education from school in his own village Sukhwasi in Nagaur district. He passed 6th standard from middle school Gogelao but could not continue his education due to adverse family conditions.

He has been involved in Planting and preserving trees and motivating people for nature conservation in forest deficit districts like Nagaur, Jodhpur,  Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sikar, Ajmer etc. since last 25 years. He is associated with Mahavir International Sansthan Nagaur for Green India Mission since 2013.

He has developed a unique integrated agro-forestry plantation and biodiversity conservation centre. The green patch he has created at village Harima in Nagaur in an area of 6 ha has become unique rehabilitation center for Peacocks, Chinkaras and other various rare wild birds and animals. His efforts have been widely appreciated and he has been awarded with many awards. He has been associated with People for Animals programe run by Menka Gandhi.

He is a winner of many series of awards for his remarkable and outstanding work:  

He was awarded by UNESCO in 1999 for environment protection.

He was an instrument in getting declared Gogelao and Rotoo as conservation reserves. 

He is an awardee of Rajasthan State Amrita Devi Vishnoi award for 2003. 

He has been appointed as honorary Wild Life Warden from 2000-2016 by the State Government.

 He is an awardee of Rajiv Gandhi Environment Protection Award-2014. 

He has been awarded with Padmashri for his social service on Republic-day 26 January 2020 by the President of India.
