The Obstacle in our Path: -

There once was a very wealthy and curious king. And was curious to know who actually runs or works in his kingdom. So once the King had a plan and without anybody’s knowledge places a large rock in the middle of the ongoing road. Then he hid nearby to see if anyone would try to remove the gigantic rock from the road and clear the route.


The first people to pass by were some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers. Rather than moving it, they simply walked around it. A few loudly blamed the King for not maintaining the roads. Not one of them tries to move the rock.

Finally, a peasant came along. His arms were full of vegetables. When he got near the Rock, rather than simply walking around it as the others had, the peasant put down his vegetables and tried to move the rock to the side of the road. It took a lot of effort but he finally succeeded.

The peasant gathered up his vegetables and was ready to go his way he suddenlyhe noticed a purse lying hidden in the road where the rock had been. The peasant opened the purse. The purse was full of gold coins and a note written in it “The Purse’s gold is a reward for moving the rock from the road”. The King got his answer.

Also the King showed the peasant what many of us never understand: "every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition".

Sindhutai Sapkal - a ‘mother’ to over 1400 homeless children: Born on  born on 14 November, 1948 at  Pimpri Meghe  village in  Wardha  district of  Maharashtra, India. She was keen on completing her education and used Bharadi tree leaves to write as the family could not afford a slate. Her early marriage put an end to her desire to study. She got married at a tender age of 10 to a 30-year old man. Her abusive husband beat her up and threw her out of the house when she was 20 and nine-months pregnant.
